The group's name was chosen by Gareth sometime in the first two weeks of the school year. The name has Gareth's last name in it (North), alluding to Gareths opinion of himself as the 'face-man' of the band.

- In contrast to Chaos Sauce, the members of the North Stars are not close friends. It is unknown if this is common or uncommon in Strumlott's classes.
- It may be more uncommon, as Headmistress Greenspire has mentioned that students' histories and goals are considered when entering the school so as to place them in groups that are suited to them.
